Rambling & Complaints - Barrucadu - 06-30-2012 10:21 AM

whenever I show up here I generally have some sort of time-extended complaint which has been bothering me, and posting in the rant threads and starting individual threads may not be the best approach. So I have decided to start a single thread to house all of my ranting Tongue

-----

The current problem is, as I mentioned here—and so won't bother explaining again in detail—is that I don't meet enough people, and this is steadily degrading my ability to meet new people. In particular, manifesting recently in an inability to take advantage of a perfect situation. This, coupled with being single for several months now after a brief but wonderful relationship (I felt like I was walking on clouds and could accomplish anything, I miss that emotion a lot) has rather annoyed me.

The current plan of attack is to ascertain whether asking a girl to introduce me to one of her friends is a thing that is done. Further battle plans shall be drawn up after this vital information is gleaned…

Hello Barracuda,

Mate, i would have no qualms about asking your friend to introduce you. Im also assuming that your friend has noticed you have difficulty in mixing or socialising so i wouldnt think she would be surprised......

Go for it my friendSmile

RE: Rambling & Complaints - Barrucadu - 07-01-2012 01:53 AM

So, I decided to man up and ask for an introduction. Seems she is going home this week and won't be back until the next academic year (October). Oh well. Silly summer.

RE: Rambling & Complaints - Barrucadu - 07-07-2012 06:42 AM

Well, I'm going out for a meal with some friends from home tomorrow, and going to a different friend's birthday meal on Sunday. The former consists entirely of people I know, and the latter almost entirely of people I don't know. Well, at least I'm going to meet several new people, even if it is for the first time in ages.

RE: Rambling & Complaints - Globetrotter - 07-08-2012 08:09 AM

Is there any chance of getting the girl's email address or phone number? 005_sconfused

Given your shared interest in tea, it would be a shame to have to wait until after the summer.

It might also make getting to know her easier if you start by doing it 'at a distance'.

RE: Rambling & Complaints - Barrucadu - 07-09-2012 07:03 AM

Possibly, but given that I barely know her I think waiting to meet in person is probably a better choice.

RE: Rambling & Complaints - Harold-L - 12-16-2012 07:13 AM

You don't seem to have much to complain about Barru. If this were my thread it'd be 20 pages long by now.Cool

I'll kidnap it! Today's complaint: butterflies. They're creepy. Why do people like them so much? Sure, seen from a distance they're colourful and fairytale-ish, but get too close and they're the stuff of nightmares. If I ever saw a giant butterfly I'd die.005_ssuprised So get real people, butterflies are uncool!005_smad
There. I'm glad I got that off my chest.

I love butterflies but maybe a large one WOULD be uncool!
My ramble would be mosquitoes. For years they didn't bother me...until our last camping trip when I think they decided it was about time to make up for all the years they didn't bother me. I was practically eaten alive and scratched so much even though I tried not to. Now we have a massive and total dislike for each other.

RE: Rambling & Complaints - Harold-L - 12-20-2012 03:09 AM

A dislike for each other? Sounds to me as if they like you quite a lot.Cool

I agree though. Mosquitoes are evil. Most bugs are. That's the worst part of summer; they're everywhere.Scared

Todays complaint: jeans! I don't like them. Why does everyone wear jeans? They're so ...blue, and the fabric is uncomfortable. Say nay to jeans!

I just had to laugh, Harold, as I'm desperately trying to lose some weight so I can fit into mine!Laughing6

Pfff, forget about jeans. Buy some stretchy pants and you can eat all you want.005_sdrool

Today's rant: a cat at the shelter tried to kill my jacket today. Note to self: don't wear nice clothes at the shelter.005_sconfused

That's been my problem with stretchy pants. Trying now to do something different and jeans make one look s-l-e-e-k!Laughing6

Good idea, Harold!Smile

My rant: Change the 'hockey queen' under my name to 'football queen'. Just getting tired of all the rigmarole going on about hockey and no settlement. I don't hold my breath for a hockey season this year.005_ssad

I changed it!005_shappy
Out of curiosity, do you Canadians refer to actual football when you use the word football (and by actual football I mean "soccer), or do you mean American football?005_sconfused

Todays rant: why do they make fridges so small? I can't imagine having a bigger family and sharing this fridge. It's barely enough for three people.005_ssuprised

American Football is more exciting to me than Canadian Football. I think the fans have so much to do with that. Plus there are more U.S. teams with really cute quarterbacks.Ashamed0005Laughing6

Sharing a fridge with roommates could be tough if it's not big enough. Ours, though, suits my husband and me quite well.

Have you ever played any sports yourself?005_stongue

Lucky you. I'm always scared of opening our fridge because of the chaos I know I'll see in there.005_ssuprised

Seeing as it's after midnight, I can add a new daily rant!005_shappy
Today's rant: I really really hate Saturdays.005_sconfused
