Thank you Daniel, I think I might have missed a compliment here. ssurprised Why do dogs bark? They are not barking, they are talking in dog. Obviously you don't understand the language. |

Re: Anyone afraid of lifts?
Ooohh.. i did a group theropy not that long ago, a few of us were really scared of lifts so they took us to the shops and made up confront our fears, most of us were scared we'd have a panic attack in there and not be able to get out, or it would break down and be stuck there for awhile, i was also scared just because lifts go up.. sometimes too high for my liking haha.
So anyways, they came with us to begin with and we basically just rode the lift for and hour haha i think most people around thought we had serious issues but oh well. first off we just went one floor then got off (you could even start with just watching the lift if you liked just too see how many times it would break down.... of corse it never did..), then we went 2 floors, 3 floors... etc.. ( thankfully it was only 3 floors u could go up anymore i'd be freakin out about the height haha.), then once we felt pretty comfortable.. they made us start hyperventilating (?cant spell) just to bring on the panic symptoms to realise they weren't going to harm us and we'd be ok if we had a panic attack in the lift.... just so happened to be a really hot busy day at the shops also so it was always really packed with people and i get really claustraphobic, we all survived.. it never broke down... im ok with lifts now.. except for the next week, we went to the hospital to ride the lifts there. haha.. anyways just so happened to be a glass lift.. oh i was soo scared i mean looking out seeing how high ur going was not cool.. anyways i started crying as soon as i saw it.. i never cry in public like never.. but i was so scared.. think the theropists felt really bad also haha. anyways we were there for a little over an hour i was watching everyone else ride on it.. i couldnt stop crying from being so scared.. anyways like 10mins before we left.. i went on it just one floor.. and i felt like the biggest idiot.. cause it really wasnt that scary.. i was crying for no reason... i just pretended it was really bad though cos i was embarressed hehe.. well thats my lift stories... sorry to rave on.. |

Re: Anyone afraid of lifts?
Ooh... I've always had a dislike for elevators and especially escalators. I use them though of course...
On elevators I guess there's just that nagging fear that the cables will snap and I'll fall or I'll get caught in the door and be horribly maimed. I guess because the machine's out of my control... And escalators... ugh. I've never liked them. When I get on them I feel like I'm gonna suddenly fall over and I worry about getting stuck. I guess that's because my mom always told my horror stories, I saw horror stories on tv and I someone's shoelaces got stuck at the ballpark right in front of me. I guess it's because I've never been fond of heights either. And once my sister pushed past me and almost knocked me down one. I hate those things. My "friend" absolutely hates them and I remember when we had to get on one at the mall she was completely panicked. I didn't feel that much better ![]() I guess it's not profound enough to be classified as a phobia or anything, but I much prefer the stairs  |
