Scorpio did you ever get the book and try the TEA forms? I'm still chugging along with them and doing pretty well. I do get lazy at times and skip them but I think the new ways of thinking have penetrated my sub conscious mind so I can get away with it for longer periods of time now happy3

Cbt is really great but you have to stay on top of doing the exercises, which can be tough at first but as long as I have been doing them now the TEA forms are like washing my hands, just another part of my daily routine =D

The boards aren't overly active at the moment, no. There are still some members that frequent the forum though.

You're welcome... It's not as technical as most and simplifies the process so it's not overwhelming. Main difference is it was written from a sufferer's point of view. I think you will like it and it's a quick read Wave

RE: Best treatment for anxiety panic if you want lasting rel
Hi Ana and everyone else. I forgot about this site and curious whether activity has picked back up on it now?
I do want to tell everyone how great my life is going now and I am an even bigger proponent of CBT and the TEA forms than I was before because it continues to pass the test of time for me with flying colors.

Hope everyone is well!

Hi beachgirl. 005_shappy It's great to see you back on the forum and to hear that you're doing so well.

I know this has probably already been asked/explained but... what's TEA?

As for the activity on the forum, it's still not overly busy. There are still some old members that frequent the forum though. So, don't be afraid to make posts. They may not be responded to immediately but you should get a response soon.

RE: Best treatment for anxiety panic if you want lasting relief
As a hypnotherapist, I have help numerous people with anxiety related issues. Not only does it help to relax the clients, but it helps them to have a tool they can use going forward that can be as simple as pressing their fingers together! It works on a subconscious level, which your subconscious makes up 88% of your mind!

you can read some interesting case studies at my blog: http://blog(.)thetaspring(.)com/ (Link made inactive by Mod)

best of luck!

Thanks Ana.
The TEA forms are the CBT based thought countering exercise that Sam Obitz and Michelle Craske outline in their awesome CBT starter book called "Been there, Done that? DO This!
It's a really simple exercise that works better than you could ever imagine. You write down your anxiety producing thought (T) then identify the common errors (E) in the thought and then you come up with a rational analysis/answer (A). When done over time this new less anxiety provoking way of thinking becomes ingrained in your brain and will be your normal way of thinking going forward.
Highly recommend the book and the TEA forms to anyone who is serious about getting better and willing to put some work into themselvesHappy
