Crocodiles
Hello :-)

I'm planing to visit Australia with a friend soon.
Since we both enjoy nature, most of the trip going to involve trekking.
The problem starts on the Northern parts of Australia, where the "Salties" (Salt Water Crocodiles) lives.

She has a Crocodile Fear (Or Phobia?).
For example: She won't watch a movie with a slight chance to see a crocodile in. Or in case she will see a crocodile picture (on the paper for example), she will scream and toss the paper.

Since Australia is a "once in a life-time" trip, I wish to see and experiance as much as I can - thats why I do want to visit the nortern parts (which suppose to be amazing).
However, my friend refuse to visit the northern parts of Australia because she afraid of encountering crocodiles.
I talked with Park Rangers, and they told me you can visit the northern parks without even seeing a Crocodile if you don't want. But she won't hear reason. She afraid she might even see a sign with a crocodile painted on it - and she told me just the "knowing" she might see something will keep her rest-less during this trip.

How i'm suppose to handle that? try to be logic with her explaining she have nothing to afraid since the Park rangers said we won't see any (and if we will?), or maybe not force it and accept I will probably have to miss the northern parts?

Thanks Smile

Re: Crocodiles
Hi,

So have you visited Australia? or you trip is gonna be shortly?. Well there are many people who fear Crocodiles and its very normal too. I suggest is just miss certain parts where she is not comfortable to visit. OR give her a break from traveling, let her rest at your hotel and you just visit those particular places. Do let us know how was your experience in Australia.

RE: Crocodiles
one thing is predictable about crocodiles; they never stray too far away from water, so the best way to deal with this fear is to trek in the highlands where there is no water!
