Departure Lounge
We all know this is the place where the anxiety levels rise.

How do you feel when you're at the airport? What things do you do to distract your mind?

Re: Departure Lounge
As long as there are plenty of shops and stuff I can walk around in I'm kinda ok, it distracts me.
But if it's just a small room where you have to sit down and wait, theres nothing that manages to calm me down stongue
I can't concentrate on books and I hate just sitting still there looking at the airplane and waiting to board it.
Awful awful sconfused

I'd be a dog, a monkey or a bear, or anything but that vain animal, who is so proud of being rational.

Having someone with me to talk to is a great distraction, as well as shops to look in. i dont like waiting to board the p;ane though when you go through to the gate as there is nothing there except a large window with planes the other side. this is normally when im in tears and doing anything not to get on the plane.

Re: Departure Lounge
Usually I find shops and restaurants to be a great distraction. The anxiety tends to hit me when I see my plane (rather than any of the others at the airport).

Re: Departure Lounge
I walk round endlessly or chat on the phone. The worse bit for me is passing through imigration and security. I am 6ft tall and have one of those faces that scream 'mad bomber!' so I know I am going to be searched and/or questioned which in turn only makes me worse....

Why do dogs bark?

They are not barking, they are talking in dog. Obviously you don't understand the language.

I just all together avoid airports lol...last time was to pick my sister up 10 years ago now...but I may fly to CA to see my aunt this summer. Having to fly, yeah terrified. I plan IPOD constantly followed by xanax and stuff to read. I don't get the luxary of walking around.
