Re: Elevators?
I quite like escelators.
I run up them instead of waiting.
I'm way too impatient.

Re: Elevators?
So, I thought I might share an interesting experience that I had in an elevator about a month or two ago.
I was at a nursing home visiting my grandmother and I needed to take the elevator both up and down because there was no stairs. The elvators also have a lock because it's a nursing home. So, once you get in the door shuts and you have to put in the password. Once you do this you press the floor number and all is well.
So, on my way out of the nursing home I got in the elevator. The door shut and I waited for the light on the button to go on. It didn't so I started hitting the floor 1 button angrily. I seriously was about to have a heart attack when I remembered that you need to put the password in.
 I think it would have been funnier if you'd actualy seen me freaking out.

No, I didn't think it was funny at the time but looking back I laugh because it was slightly funny.

I put this thread in the Acrophobia Forum because most people are afriad of elevators because you know they go up high and are 'only hanging by a metal wire'.

Eek! When you put it like that it really is scary! Eek!

Wow, I guess I shouldn't have phrased it like that.
I'm sorry; I'll go change it now.

Why do dogs bark?

They are not barking, they are talking in dog. Obviously you don't understand the language.

Re: Elevators?
When I was little I saw a show that talked about the safety of elevators (I think it was PMK actually) because they were getting a bad rap from hollywood. As it turns out you can cut every wire on the elevator and emergency brakes on all four corners immediately grab the corners of the shaft. The lifting mechanism is virtually indestructable by intentional means nevermind freak accidents and there are 5 cables that could hold up the elevator if you cut 4 of them and screwed over the emergency breaks. Another fact is that nowhere in the elevator shaft are you trapped, the top of one door is barely 2 feet from the bottom of the floor above. These doors are roughtly 6'10 so the least amount of space you can have to squeeze through is 2'5 and that is if you have apallingly bad luck. Hope that helps.

Hiya Pach77,

It's funny because my girlfriend is afraid of elevators but can only travel in the glass ones.
