Fear of correspondence
I suffer from a fear of correspondence, otherwise known as epistolophobia. In fact I've only just disclosed this fact to the public today (not even my closest friends and family knew about this) having written a long post about it on my forum, I will quote a little telling part here:

Quote:This however is just one such incident of many. Take the story of how I couldn't bear to open any letters for around six months. The fear that the letters might contain bad news meant I had ignored countless letters from my bank over a period of around six or seven months, causing a minor £7 overdraft to skyrocket to over four thousand pounds. Believe it or not, this actually happened to me twice, all because the thought of letters being addressed to me, of people writing to me terrified me and caused me frequent anxiety attacks.

Wanted to post here to see if anybody has actually heard of this before and if so, does anybody else suffer from this (to the degree that it badly affects their lives?)
