I have decided that it's time to get some sort of picture-recording-device! I know nothing about cameras other than that you point them at something and press a button, and some are digital and some are not. So, assume you are talking to a complete idiot.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I don't need something particularly brilliant, and would prefer one that works as a USB mass storage device (ie: you plug it in and can see the files on it without any special drivers or other software).
