RE: Interview the person below you
Quote:Staying up with my husband until after midnight watching the New Year come in. We used to watch "Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve", don't know if the show will be on this year though. That sounds nice. I have never heard of that Dick Clark show though. Do you and your husband celebrate alone, or do you have some people over?Quote:Any New Year's Resolutions you're thinking about, or renewing ones that didn't quite work out?Nothign too interesting. My New Year's Resolution is always to work on my social issues and to expose myself to uncomfortable situations more often for practice. So I suppose I'll renew that one. A second, cheesy one, is to try and be a friendlier person. I find myself getting grumpier and disliking people for no particular reason more and more as the years pass by, and I can't say I like it. So I intend to make an effort and not be such a grump. ![]() I'll be boring and ask the same question: any New Years Resolutions this year? I'd be a dog, a monkey or a bear, or anything but that vain animal, who is so proud of being rational.

Food and I are now friends and I actually taste it instead of doing something else when I'm eating. Paying attention has worked wonders. No diet, just don't believe in them. Another ten pounds to go and I'll be perfect! Luba, watch that ego, er...meant to say, another ten pounds and I'll be feeling better and happy.Another one is I hope I can quit being so long-winded and stick just to the facts, which, obviously, by my long posts, it's going to be an uphill climb.

I like talking to you too.![]() Quote:I'm actually quite proud of the fact that I lost twenty pounds so far just by making food my friend in a very respectful way instead of an enemy. That's exactly what I've been trying to tell my mother. She has weight problems too, and really needs to lose weight because of her osteoarthritis, but she insists on following the oddest diets. I mean, the pineapple diet? Who in God's name comes up with these things? I agree with what you said though. I think most people would benifit if they changed the way they look at food. Give the food some thought. Eat slowly and try to savour and enjoy every bite. It'll get you further than any diet would. Sure, you might not reach your ideal weight in a matter of weeks, but keep it up and you'll get there. Obviously you can't eat huge quantities or garbage, but you can make healthy food more enjoyable by making an effort and changing the way you think about food in general....then again, seeing as I've had the opposite problem and been underweight all my life, I should probably be quiet. ![]() Good luck losing those last 10 pounds though. ![]() And pfff, being long-winded is a good quality. Don't change that.

Wear a funny hat? I don't know...
![]() Anything! Just as long as they're smiling. There. Good enough answer. ![]() Come to think of it, I taught my 8-year-old cousin how to play the guitar yesterday while the "adults" were talking about politics and boring her (and me!) out of her mind. That made her smile. ![]() On a similar note, what have you done this Christmas to make someone smile?

^ Have really gotten into my granola bars of late. Very moreish!
![]() Tend to buy them when they're on offer in the supermarkets, where I stock up on my favorite flavour. When was the last time lady luck smiled on you?

^ Definitely badminton.
However, I haven't got round to playing it for a good few years now. ![]() I'll ask what is for me a popular job interview question - if I were to take your friends down the pub, and asked them to describe you in three words, what would those three words be? What kind of 'nonsense' do I come out with when I get asked that question? 'Thoughtful', 'patient', 'good listener', 'dry' (as in sense of humour). Hmmmm..... I'm not quite sure whether telling potential employers that you have a dry sense of humour is necessarily a wise step (I'm applying for administration roles), but, it certainly doesn't seem to have done me any harm so far. Besides, we all need a sense of humour in life! ![]() Your favourite month or season?

Not much for New Year's Eve get-togethers.
