RE: Olympic torch in my city.
I remember seeing the torch in my local park when it came to my home town in Sydney, about 8 years ago.

I went from "couldnt give a hoot" to being totally delighted in that one day. It somehow gave me a special feeling and love for the Olympics and really was a once in a lifetime event.

RE: Olympic torch in my city.
I saw the Olympic torch last week when it passed through my local city centre.

To think, at the time, I nearly decided against seeing it because I was more interested in catching a bus! 005_ssuprised 005_sbiggrin

Though I have an Olympic ticket (for the football), I can't see myself using it.

On the day my ticket arrived in the post, I opened up a newspaper to see photos of jam-packed streets of people celebrated Chelsea's Champions League win. As someone who doesn't 'do' crowds, I wouldn't exactly relish attending somewhere which is going to be similar. Sick3

I'm going to Cardiff to watch football olympic matches in July, longest time I'll be away from home in 7 years, I went to see Wimbledon tennis 6 years ago, was supposed to be there for 10 days but had a mental breakdown & came home after just 2 Scared

I think this could be different cause I don't think olympic football matches will have massive crowds.

I dont think the crowds will be even half as big as something like a major league match or the FA Cup.....but there will still be a fair amount of people.

Hopefully you get to have some funSmile

They certainly seem to be struggling to sell the footy tickets, that's for sure!

Funnily enough, my first choice of tickets was for the tennis at Wimbledon. Football was more of a back-up option for me (like yourself, at Cardiff, but in August).

I guess I'll make a final decision nearer the day...
