Rambling & Complaints
whenever I show up here I generally have some sort of time-extended complaint which has been bothering me, and posting in the rant threads and starting individual threads may not be the best approach. So I have decided to start a single thread to house all of my ranting
![]() ----- The current problem is, as I mentioned here—and so won't bother explaining again in detail—is that I don't meet enough people, and this is steadily degrading my ability to meet new people. In particular, manifesting recently in an inability to take advantage of a perfect situation. This, coupled with being single for several months now after a brief but wonderful relationship (I felt like I was walking on clouds and could accomplish anything, I miss that emotion a lot) has rather annoyed me. The current plan of attack is to ascertain whether asking a girl to introduce me to one of her friends is a thing that is done. Further battle plans shall be drawn up after this vital information is gleaned… Website, Blog. |

RE: Rambling & Complaints
Hello Barracuda,
Mate, i would have no qualms about asking your friend to introduce you. Im also assuming that your friend has noticed you have difficulty in mixing or socialising so i wouldnt think she would be surprised...... Go for it my friend ![]() Lifesupporters.com: Peer support. RE: Rambling & Complaints
So, I decided to man up and ask for an introduction. Seems she is going home this week and won't be back until the next academic year (October). Oh well. Silly summer.

RE: Rambling & Complaints
Well, I'm going out for a meal with some friends from home tomorrow, and going to a different friend's birthday meal on Sunday. The former consists entirely of people I know, and the latter almost entirely of people I don't know. Well, at least I'm going to meet several new people, even if it is for the first time in ages.

RE: Rambling & Complaints
Is there any chance of getting the girl's email address or phone number?
![]() Given your shared interest in tea, it would be a shame to have to wait until after the summer. It might also make getting to know her easier if you start by doing it 'at a distance'. Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. Dr Seuss Courage does not always roar. RE: Rambling & Complaints
Possibly, but given that I barely know her I think waiting to meet in person is probably a better choice.

RE: Rambling & Complaints
You don't seem to have much to complain about Barru. If this were my thread it'd be 20 pages long by now.
![]() I'll kidnap it! Today's complaint: butterflies. They're creepy. Why do people like them so much? Sure, seen from a distance they're colourful and fairytale-ish, but get too close and they're the stuff of nightmares. If I ever saw a giant butterfly I'd die. ![]() ![]() There. I'm glad I got that off my chest. I'd be a dog, a monkey or a bear, or anything but that vain animal, who is so proud of being rational.

I love butterflies but maybe a large one WOULD be uncool! My ramble would be mosquitoes. For years they didn't bother me...until our last camping trip when I think they decided it was about time to make up for all the years they didn't bother me. I was practically eaten alive and scratched so much even though I tried not to. Now we have a massive and total dislike for each other. |

RE: Rambling & Complaints
A dislike for each other? Sounds to me as if they like you quite a lot.
![]() I agree though. Mosquitoes are evil. Most bugs are. That's the worst part of summer; they're everywhere. ![]() Todays complaint: jeans! I don't like them. Why does everyone wear jeans? They're so ...blue, and the fabric is uncomfortable. Say nay to jeans! I'd be a dog, a monkey or a bear, or anything but that vain animal, who is so proud of being rational.
