Why do they advertise new versions of anti-virus/ spyware programs as being faster when they simply aren't?! smad

This weekend I installed the new versions of such programs, and for each, about a hour has been added to the scan time.

I hate it when online surveys end up taking much longer than expected.

Today I was invited to one which apparently was supposed to take up to 15 minutes. However, I ended up being on it for at least 45!!!

Why did the email someone sent me take 4 days to arrive, despite us having the same ISP and not exactly living a million miles apart?!!

After doing a search on www.jobsite.co.uk/, I keep seeing the same advert for a Domestic Assistant in Whithaven on whatever website I visit! smad

After suffering speeds slower than dial-up for the past few days, I think my broadband speed is finally back to normal! shappy

My computer needs more RAM

AND

a more powerful processor

AND

a better graphics card

AND

more hard drive capacity!

I find it weird how one day my hard drive is showing less than 500MB of space, and the next, more than 3.5GB? (I haven't uninstalled/ deleted anything, or carried out a defrag!).

Deciding to play Neverwinter Nights, I thought that I would 'helpfully' download the latest patch for the game.

That patch however, ended up making the game unplayable! Cue, hours of me downloading, installing, uninstalling, the latest drivers for my graphics card/ various patches for the game.

^World of Warcraft did the same thing, and I have NEVER been able to play it since. It uploaded a patch (I did not have a choice in the matter), it then didn't work, I bought like 2-3 times the original memory thinking that could be the only problem, had to uninstall, reinstall, and then re download ALL the patches, and then when I would go to try and play it, it would just uninstall itself.

^ And patches are supposed to help fix issues!

This afternoon, my mouse has started double clicking on a single click.

A lot of times an uninstaller won't exactly clear your Hard Disks of all game files, especially since saves are usually stored elsewhere.

It's better to use Windows Uninstaller whenever possible, then reboot your computer and re-install. This always happens automatically with video drivers and it's for good reason.

The other thing you may want to check after installing is "My Documents" folder and delete the game save folder that is likely stored in there. It's not uncommon for a new patch to not work off previous saves so when trying to load a previous profile the game itself can crash.

^ I know I have un-installed it using windows and then tried again. I am mostly bothered because I have a 2 month online card for it sitting in a drawer. lol I never checked for old saves, but it also never let me get to a logging in point where it would try and load the old saves. *shrug* Its probably for the better. With me being often alone the last thing I need is to start something so freaking addictive and I'll never leave my house!

Had to use the rescue disc on my PC this week, thereby taking it back to it's orginal factory settings.

Although I did save the most important things before using it, I've still ended up losing 7 years of other accumulated stuff.

To say that I didn't take it well would be an understatement.
