Is cat fur nutritious?
I think the major part of my diet lately consists of cat fur. I just had a bowl of soup, with cat hair in it; toast, with hair on it; and a bowl of water, you guessed it, with fur in it. Yum. scool

I've just had to throw out from the house a large wasp which seemed particularly fond of my bedroom light. Confused

I really don't do insects, particularly ones that sting! Big Grin

Well, I find the fact that you were able to throw the wasp out of your room amazing! Lol. I would have been curled up in a ball under my blankets screaming for help.

But, yeah. I hear you. Insects are one thing. Ones that sting are a whole other ball game.

I think I might need to leave the country for a few days.

All this excessive media coverage about the royal wedding is making me ill. Tard

A very serious rant :(
Hercules was a Police Horse that last week died whilst on duty for the West Australian Police Dept. He was performing crowd control duties at a country show (fair) and was electrocuted, dying in immense pain.

I was totally disgusted to read that his body was disposed of by dumping him in a landfill tip, rather than him being provided with a burial.

http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/western-...6043086862

I have written to the WA Police Commissioner and demanded that he resign immediately. I have written to the Minister For Police and demanded that the Commissioner reign or be sacked immediately.

Hercules deserved a decent burial and to be deprived this because the Commissioner thought it to be too expensive is simply disgusting. Hercules performed his duties loyaly, he deserved so much better and now, well he lays amongst unwanted rubbish and garbage.

This is not right, should never have happened and i am so damn angry and sad that no one in authority seems to care. I have tweeted constantly and posted on facebook, besides sending emails and writing to all concerned.

It may not change what has happened but the B**T**DS will know how i and many other people feel.

RIP Hercules xox.

Go Snooks!
I wont read the article because it already makes me rather sick (I did cat rescue work for 10 years and it makes me sick what people do to animals!).

Police (in Detroit I think) last summer left the police dog in the cop car IN THE SUMMER and the dog shredded the car trying to get out and the dog died. wtf. Its illegal to do that to your own personal animal and I'm sure the cop knew this yet thought it was fine to leave his dog in a situation that it would suffer SLOWLY to death. The police need to learn to treat their animals humanely expecially considering its the law for others not to.

Way to go Snooks.Blob5

Although, sadly, that horse probably had a better life than most animals that we use for our own benefit. People don't care about that, so I don't see why they would take the burial of a horse very seriously either. We're the dominant species, and we're all that matter. Apparently. Undecided

I despise people who hurt or mistreat animals.

I dont mean animals being farmed for food, though, i would hope and expect they be treated humanely. But i really hate animal abuse and doing what they did to Hercules was so uncalled for, especially given the Police Union offerred to pay for his funeral.

At least my emails and tweets will annoy them for a short while and hopefully make them think before doing it again.

I'm with you on that one Snooks, I absolutely hate it when people mistreat animals.Undecided
And I think it's good that you're standing up for what you believe in here. Even if your emails have no more effect than to annoy them a little, you're still standing up for a good cause.Blob5

What exactly happened to him? It says that he was electrocuted, but accidentally? Undecided

Apparently on his patrols he walked by a lighting pole which had some sort of wiring issue. The first time he passed it he reared, fell to his knees and had problems.

They calmed him down and he seemed ok. Nobody knew the reason for his behaviour. The Officer walked by at a later stage and Hercules must have touched or been closer to the exact wiring problem, resulting in is immediate collapse and ultimately his death.

Poor horse. To be honest, I'm more so saddened by the fact that he had to die in such a manner as opposed to the fact that he wasn't buried properly. With that being said though, I think it's extremely disrespectful not to have a 'proper' burial for the horse. It's showing a lack of respect for his life and contribution to the lives around him. It's completely unacceptable for a human body to be disposed of in such a manner, thus the same standards should be set for animals.

But, yeah, good job giving them a piece of your mind!

That's disgusting. Confused Poor dog. Obviously, leaving any living being in a car for an extended period of time during the summer is dangerous. You would hope that a police officer would understand that.

Animal shelters are horrible as well. Not so much on cruely (which is also commonly the case) but just the barrels and barrels of dead pups/kits that just get tossed away like garbage is horrible. I wish people would fix their animals.

Most animals used for food are very poorly treated as well. I wish I had the extra money to buy Kosher meat because at least i know their death was humane (I could care less about the fact that they were blessed).

Its sad what this world considers acceptable and the states make me depressed that with us being such a "developed" country our animal cruely laws are SO behind comparatively.
