Re: Im cold
It's freezing here in Wales, have been for quite awhile & even with my heating up on full i'm still cold. Doesn't help that there is a really bad draft coming into my living room from my patio doors!!

Re: Freezing.
Sounds like my life right now. I've complained to my landlord about the heat (or lack thereof) since October, and it's still not working now.

Re: Counterproductive Phobia Advice
Hah, I can relate to all of these comments.
I know some people who like to give all the nasty details, regardless of who is in the room. For example, someone in the room is afraid of snakes so another guy: "Hey guess what I saw? It was this giant SNAKE, must have been fatter than a tuna can and 8 feet long!!" Or the usual "just grow up" and similar.. |

Re: Freezing.
Hope you get your heating sorted soon Labyssum!! Your landlord should give you a plug in heater to use until it's fixed. Keep nagging him until he does it, or refuse to pay your rent until he does it.

Re: Why must girls travel in packs?
LOL
I don't travel in packs. But I've seen girls who can't seem to break out of their cluster, even to use the bathroom they must travel there together. And it only seems to be a girl thing. I never see guys do that. Maybe it's because my friends are 98% guys, so I act more like one of them than a normal girl (at least according to some people's opinions). |

Re: Why must girls travel in packs?
Girls in crowds has always intimidated me even though i'm a girl. I've always hung around with mostly boys as I feel more comfortable in their company.

Re: Why must girls travel in packs?
I probably would have, well , thought about trying, something like that except for two things:
[list] [*]I barely ever leave my house, so it would be completely weird for me to suggest such a thing [*]My friends arn't exactly 'normal' (amongst others, a technophobia anime freak, and a politician-hating tractor-obsessed farmer) so that wouldn't really help.[/list:u] Website, Blog. |

Discrimination
I went to a store and tried to buy joggers, but couldn't. Cause they don't like the way i look. They didn't even want to serve me, i had to ask repeatdly to get noticed and there was no one else there. Then as the girl looked for my shoe size, the other guy yelled to her upstairs within my hearing, "Don't get shoes for her! I don't like the look of her! She looks like a bum!"
Then i sat there anyway hoping to get my shoes, ignoring his comment. Then he and two friends that walked in, stared at me overtly from the register and talked about me without caring if i could hear or not. They were so cruel, i glared at them, but the shop guy just stared at me :surprised:: like ,"What?!" When they were the ones staring and talking about me overtly. I was looking at him as well like what?! As it makes sense for me to do that since they were staring at me! They were saying, "She doesn't belong here." "I wonder if we can make her go by glaring at her." Which i mentioned and i didn't leave cause i don't see why i can't buy shoes, good shoes that don't break like the ones at K-mart always break. Then they huffed off cause i didn't leave and the girl never found shoes in my size of lots of shoes i tried to buy and when i was leaving two girls said, "Of course they have size eight in those shoes, they were just trying to get rid of her and it finally worked." They laughed and the girl shopkepper laughed. They are discrimanating obvously cause i don't look average looking to them, i must like hidoeus to them and it sucks. I hate getting discrimanted aganest! It happens a lot, i don't see why i can't buy nice shoes just because they don't like the way i look doesn't mean they have a right to discriminate aganest me! angry1 I feel like the lady in my book i'm reading 'Interface', when she goes to the mall full of all white people and shes the only black person and they look at her like scum. Like she shouldn't be there, they looked shocked that shes there and talk in her presence, but not to her. As she sits waiting at the mall bus stop and when she walks inside they all move away from her. Or how the cable man looked at her in her house, in a all white sububarn neighrhood like what are you doing here and he even said it. He also did a crappy cable job for her. angry1 |
