Hi Everyone,

Boy am I happy I found this Board. I am VERY VERY afraid of the dentist. Last time I got some work done I had a tooth pulled and got a Dental implant( Which I was asleep for) but I have not gone for a check up in over 5 years. I can't even pick up the phone. When I think about it, I just start crying. I am so afriad of pain. I thought of doing the sedation dentistry but the Price is Crazy. I wish I could just suck it up and Be brave. Sometimes I think of getting Hypnotized just to get over this fear. I just started having tooth pain last week, so I need to go and get work done...But how?????

hi i wasnt as bad as u but i was scarred didnt go for 6 years and decided i needed 2 go. i was a lot more relaxed when i had my check up done and found i only needed 1 filling she was that good it didnt need 2 be numbed.i also found that if i sprayed some of my fav perfume on my jumper that that helped when i got there as the smell of dentistsz makes me scarred. so all i could smell was my best perfume lots of it

I would be happy to answer any questions you have regarding hypnosis. I would recommend contacting the National Guild of Hypnotists if you located in the US. This is the oldest and largest organization for hypnotists in the world. Ask them to recommend someone in your area to help you release this fear.
