What reaction do you normally get when people know you have a phobia of spiders? Do they say something like "They can't harm you" or "they're more afraid of you"? What kind of reaction do you normally get?

Mostly, "Why?"
"Weirdo." is another popular one.

when i say im scared of spiders most people say...'are you?'...like duuh..i just said so didnt i?!! :roll:

well, examples are;

- Dad: That's your own fault / They won't harm you / What are you, a little girl or a man?
- Mom: I thought men weren't afraid of spiders? / They are more afraid of you
- Some friends: Why? wuss... *laughing*
- Sister: I can imagine how it feels...must be really bad...

People are so thoughtful aren't they :roll: At least your sister is understanding Bermudah.

Maybe not in the UK, but in plenty of other countries they can!

I've had a lot of people say they don't like them either. Once in a while I will hear that "they won't hurt you" or "they are harmless".

when i react to a spider its usually a BIG reaction so i usually get teased my father once swept the spider onto a paper and ran around the house chancing me while i ran and screamed then once i ran into his room screaming because there was a REALLY big on on my leg and as soon as i told him he started pointing at me looking scared saying its on you leg its on your leg..... :O :cry: but i get that from everyone not just him
