RE: [split] Hello - Im New.
This phobia is not quite as uncommon as you think, i believe we have a Moderator that also suffers from this.
Im sure other members will drop in and say hello, hopefully the person im thinking of will make himself known. Hes a nice young man from pretty close to your part of the world. Do you have any ideas as to how the phobia started and at what age? Regards. ![]() Lifesupporters.com: Peer support. RE: [split] Hello - Im New.
No need to apologise for your English not being perfect. You do a way better job of speaking English than i could attempt at speaking any other language.
I am in Australia and it is late evening here so i have to leave you. Hopefully someone else will say hello soon and i look forward to talking with you again. In the meantime browse around and do some reading, there will be many things to interest you. Regards. ![]() Lifesupporters.com: Peer support. RE: [split] Hello - Im New.
*raises hand*
I would be the moderator with Trypophobia (although my trypophobia isn't as bad now as it once was). ![]() Welcome to Ofear Dragonfly! Don't worry about your English; I have no trouble understanding you. ![]() So your phobia just started yesterday? It's interesting that you mention nightmares, as that is how this phobia begins for many people. That's how mine started. Did yours start in a dream too? It sounds as if you're keeping positive about the whole thing, which is good. I can't really give you much advice, I'm not sure how to overcome a phobia like this. I think that simply exposing yourself, slowly, to hole patterns that you find upsetting might be a good way to start. As I mentioned, my own phobia was much worse a few years ago. When I found out that it has a name and started to google for the phobia, I stumbled upon a few pictures that made me really uncomfortable. But, since I found the fear so interesting, I forced myself to continue researching. I think that's how my fear got less extreme. I still find those patterns very uncomfortable, but I can deal with them. I no longer feel the need to throw myself out a window when I see them. ![]() So maybe you can try to google for trypophobia pictures. Do be careful though, and if you get too uncomfortable don't force it. ![]() I'd be a dog, a monkey or a bear, or anything but that vain animal, who is so proud of being rational.

RE: [split] Hello - Im New.
I'm just feared of many holes like all the pictures when you google Trypophobia. I had a nightmare with a big spider and the skin of the spider had this holes, it was horrible.
My arachniophobia isn't so hard so I don't know why it was a spider in my nightmare, eventually the it was a spider cause I think spiders are the ugliest animals in whole world. When I see the trypophobia pictures my heart is (don't know how to say) very fast, I become very very nervous/tensely and I scratch my whole skin. I try to watch every day a little bit of the pictures so I defeated once ( a flower) but just in the 100x100 format if it where bigger and with more details I would cry like a little girl >.<. |

RE: [split] Hello - Im New.
It is just so strange that so many people get this phobia from a dream. I find that fascinating fascinating.
![]() When I was a kid, I had a dream of heads with big holes in it. I think it was my own head, and the heads of my family, and they all had big holes all over. I woke up with that familiar trypophobia feeling where you just want to scratch your skin (as you said) and that's when the phobia started for me. Every time I saw patterns of holes, I would get the feeling. ![]() Anyway, it's good that you're trying to fight it by viewing pictures. It might take some time, but hopefully it will help. I'm sorry that I can't be of more help. Let us know how it goes though. ![]() I'd be a dog, a monkey or a bear, or anything but that vain animal, who is so proud of being rational.

No problem, I dont expected any help, I just wnted to inform me, to learn english and to speak to peaople who have the same or other problems.
Until now I defeated all my phobias, I'm really proud of me :3 (Phobias I had until yet: Acrophobia,Arachniophobia,Xenophobia) It's really creepy, the first time I saw a scorpion in real I didn't fear it more. PS: Another fact from me is, that when I get older I wanna study psychology. |

RE: [split] Hello - Im New.
How old are you then?
I've always loved psychology and would love to study it more (will after a business degree). I have always found mental illness or mental differences very amusing and interesting. I think its also because I find those people more interesting then "normal" people. Welcome to Ofear ~Knowledge is the enemy of faith~
