Hi,

My name is Sally and I'm currently in my third year of a Psychology degree at The University of Sheffield. My dissertation is about phobias - specifically about emetophobia, needle phobia, dental phobia, blood phobia and injury phobia - and I would be really grateful for anybody with any of those phobias who would take part in my survey. The study has been granted ethical approval from the Department of Psychology ethics committee and I am being supervised by a chartered health psychologist.

Just as a bit of extra info that's not on the intro screen but might make things a bit clearer - I posted the survey on one or two other message boards and people were reluctant to continue because they read the bit about the pictures - there ARE pictures on the survey and some of the ones towards the end of the photo sequences can be graphic (particularly with the needle, blood/injury and vomit ones this would have been almost impossible to avoid) but I have tried to make sure there's nothing on there that you might not see on TV. However - the ones at the beginning of the photo section are all quite tame and if you wish to opt out of the photos at any moment then it literally takes a second to skip you away from the page you are on and take you to the final question section. Even if you do not look at many (or even any) photos, filling the rest of the survey in is incredibly helpful to me.
