I like things to be quiet, but not THIS quiet!

RE: The chit-chat thread.
Today one of the neighbours in the street decided to thank me for the XMAS card I sent her.

RE: The chit-chat thread.
Just recovering from a severe case of Legionaires Disease, caught from a contaminated water cooled / air conditioner. Nothing like being half dead in hospital for 10 days and then still recuperating 14 days later at home.
4 more weeks until im cleared for a return to work. At the moment a 30m walk has me sleeping for 2hrs.

Blimey Snooks! ![]() ![]() To say you don't have much luck would be the biggest understatement - I still remember you having your near death experience last year (wasn't it due to a sudden allegeric reaction to your medication?). Very glad to hear that you're now on the mend!

That sounds awful snooks.

RE: The chit-chat thread.
Ive had two big scares in two year.....i guess im lucky all has gone well in the scheme of things.
Ive been cleared to go back to work next week, im feeling good and although lacking fitness, all should be good. It will be 7 weeks off when i return. The Health Dept never did find the scource and have now given up looking, based on the assumption the a/c plant must have been cleaned and disinfected or there would be many others by now. Ive done a lot of reading up on the disease and i see that there was an outbreak in a pub last year in South Australia, 7 people caught it and 4 died within 48hrs. That chilled me to the bone reading that and now i feel very lucky.

But it appears more people are actually visiting. I simply cant work it out

RE: The chit-chat thread.
Shameless self promotion here we go I guess:
"You Can Change The Truth" Nothing is EVER set in stone That's my blog that I am running chronicling everything from my recovery of my phobias to the abuse I went through as a child. It was just launched so there's not much there BUT I add things day by day. Info on the main page: You may not understand why you were treated the way you were, you may never understand it, at least not from the people you desire to hear it from the most. My Name is Monica Edwards, and as I continue on a journey to better understand what my former parents (John and Robyne) did to me, I want to chronicle my research here and make it all public for one reason. I know my story is an incredible one to be told and if I can make it through the pure evil and hell that I was forced to experience through the hands of the people I was supposed to love and trust most and still be alive to go back and try to understand the truth, you can do it as well, no matter how much harder your life was than mine or easier, we all share the common ground that sometimes the "truth" and the "labels" assigned to us as children can be changed, things can come full circle and things can become more pure. With that in mind, remember, you will always be the best judge of who you truly are, trust yourself, because nothing is set in stone! There's a lot more about me there, media, articles I wrote, and articles about the abuse I suffered, but like I said, it was just launched so I am adding more resources day by day. You don't have to join that site to read any of it, and I wouldn't ask you to if you don't want. Just trying to spread my story to other people to let them know things can be overcome. RE: The chit-chat thread.
When asked by them, would you give spare change to an apparently homeless person?
This happened to me today, and on spotting the can of lager the man had behind him, I said that I hadn't got any. After I was duped by a stranger some time ago, I do wonder how homeless some of these people really are. Although initially disapproving of the can of lager this man had, I can quite easily imagine how if he was homeless, how drinking would be a form of escape for him. ^ Seems as if no one wanted to chit-chat about that.
