I hate how I always end up buying things I don't really want just because I get nervous and stressed in the store :roll:

Yeah I do that too, all the time. Or I have like a trillion things in the shopping cart, but I just can't stand to have to talk and look at the cashier and so I leave. It's happened like 2 or 3 times. Just leave the shopping cart behind. Flee flee.

I do that all the time.
...Kind of like the time I was in the "Xpress" supermarket, where they only have one turnstile to come in and one line to get through the checkout and out of the shop. I was so nervous, my voice wouldn't work, and I couldn't say "excuse me" to get past people. Then I didn't want them judging me if I just pushed through without excusing myself! So I madly looked around for something that I even remotely wanted to buy and ended up paying $18 for a magazine just so I could get the hell out of there. smad

I wish I could get my mum to understand that I'm not being lazy and that I really can't deal with all the phone calls and appointments I have this week!

I wish I'd never made an MSN account. Sometimes I have plans (um...like...to watch a DVD in the evening) and when someone signs in and says hi I have no idea how to tell them I'm busy. Then I end up in five-hour conversations and only end up logging off when someone insists, "I really should let you go, I'm probably keeping you", by which they probably mean they can't believe I never get off there and I'm keeping them. Similar thing happens on the phone. I just can't say no to people. This happen to anyone else?

:laugh: I'm sorry, that made me laugh out loud. Especially the smiley. :laugh:

I just think it's cos I'm so worried about seeming rude; I mean, it's not as though I lead a very busy life, and my friends know that, so unless I have a really good reason, I can't really tell them I don't want to speak to them...

I thought I'd be okay talking to people from uni after I had a good bar night the other night...but sure enough, I've relapsed...
Last night I had to go to a "compulsory" barbeque that didn't seem very important once I got there, and I just stood around the back of the crowd for the whole thing. At one point, one guy said he felt sorry for me and spoke to me for a while, and I managed to talk back. Once I know someone's actually interested in speaking to me, my voice frees up a bit so I can actually talk, but I still spend the entire conversation being paranoid. So I was talking to this one guy while everyone else glanced at me from their little groups from time to time. Now I know they think I'm a snob or something because I won't talk to them, but I talk to some other people. Maybe if they tried talking to me...! But I know it doesn't work like that.

I hate unplanned discourse. :frown::

Today as I was getting on my bus with a huge bag, this man helped me and then sat near me and started asking me about uni. I managed to speak clearly and actually say "Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Speech Pathology" without stuttering! I even extended on my answers and managed to explain a bit about the course and complain about the travelling time from my hometown to the campus... Then we were silent for the remainder of the trip and when I saw him get up, I worked up the courage to wish him a nice weekend, and then he - EVER SO RUDELY - wished me good luck with my studies, and it completely ruined my little plan. I was like, "Er...ha...mmm...you...thksss." Then I pretended to have a slight coughing fit. :laugh: :laugh:
