What age did you learn to swim?

So what age did you learn to swim?

I cant remember exactly but I was about 7 and it was in a small stream. My dad and older brother were there to help me.

i learnt to swim when I was 8. i couldnt take swimimng lessons with everyone else when I was 7 because I had things in my ears to help my hearing. But the next year, I could attend school swimming lessons. i havnt been swimming for about 2 years now.

I expect you will go swimming at Weston, even though im not keen on swimming in the sea in England.

Weston is about 10 mins from me

I learnt when I was about 3-4 I used to swim for the southwest untill Ii was 12 then I had extra dance lessons on the days I swam on so had to quit I still swim when I can

I havnt swum in the sea for ages and Im not sure I want to. I'd rather swim in the safe, shallower pool at Pontins.

i think i was 5 with school. my dad always took me to manila bay (im dfrom the philippines but now live in the uk)when i was growing up. im not frightened of the water, i love to swim. especially in the sea rather than a pool.

That doesnt sound like the best way to learn but im sure it worked.

My learning technique was that Dad would secretly take a bit of air out of my armbands each week until I could swim without them.

my dad always tried to teach me how to swim on holidays and stuff since i was a little girl, but the first propa time i learnt was at school coz they were doing trips so you could learn. i was about..9/10 i think? and i got a certificate saying i can swim 25 meters woo :lol:
