Im sure your not alone there Katey. My mum cant even stand having water splashed on her face when in the water let alone going under the water. Im lucky to not have any problems in fact I spend more time under the water lol.

Katey, you're never the only one, there's tones of people out there that feel the same way you do!
I, personaly, love being under the water more than ontop of the water. That's just me though. My sister hates going under the water. She says her ears feel funny and it scares her.
So, I'm sure it's really normal to dislike going under water!

I wouldnt worry too much because when I was in Turkey this year I got an eye infection and that could of been caused from going under the water in the pool or sea so maybe its best the way you are Katey.

Thats quite ok :D

If you ever go abroad and you want to see whats under the ocean there are always glass bottom boats to be able to see in detail what lies beneath as they say so you dont really have to miss out on anything.

I was like that when I was little. I absolutely refused to go underwater, and threw a fit if anyone got water on my face.

Once, during a waterfight with the neighbours when I was around 4-5, I dumped a bucket of water on my friend's 41-year-old dad. He knew that I hated water on my face, and proceeded to dump two buckets on me.

I don't remember how I got over the fear. I used to be able to jump into the deep end of a pool and not get my face wet. :?

i hate going underwater too. when i still had to do swimming for PE the teacher would be yelling at me to put my head under the water. maybe i should have told him what the problem was instead of swearing at him and hiding in the changing room!

Yet another fear of mine. I love swimming...so long as I can feel the bottom of the pool with my feet, and so long as I never go under. Thanks to half-drunk relatives during the summer, and my a$$hole gym teachers in high school, instead of taking a deeper interest in swimming...I'm very selective when it comes to going into a pool. It sucks because I already feel vulnerable when it comes to swimming, being the odd duck out only makes things worse.
